Digital Pull Down Rig | Take the mystery out of suspension set up
Collins Limited, a UK-based race car development agency, are attending the Pioneer Pole Building Motorsports 2025 Show, to deliver a seminar at 4:30pm Saturday, titled “Digital Pull Down Rig”. They will present their first-principles approach to vehicle dynamics and showcase their in-house developed pull down rig suspension setup software.
Australian brothers Jilbruke and Jenner Collins co-founded Collins Limited in 2014 on the back of two decades in motorsport spanning grass roots motorsport in Australia to Formula 1, Indycar and Le Mans prototype sports cars in the UK. After spending five years at Cooper Tire in Ohio leading the tire simulation group, Jilbruke headed to the UK in 2011, where the brothers worked at Wirth Research, developing the Honda Performance Developments driver-in-the-loop simulator together.
Collins Limited was formed with the aim of bring the often-secretive technologies and experience in F1 and automotive companies to a wider audience.
The company lead the R&D for the VUHL05 RR track day car, developing the aero, charge air cooler and dry sump packages. Supporting the Manor F1 team they designed the team’s first quick drop pit stop jack and the steering wheel for the stillborn 2017 F1 challenger. Collins Limited The team have developed a low-cost combustion pressure measurement hardware and software to support clients to find performance or problem solve issues, such as ensuring the engine has matched flow across the cylinders.
In 2018 the company began its first foray in to track side race engineering and in 2019 race engineered for West Surrey Racing, run by the legendary Dick Bennetts, who ran Ayrton Senna in Formula 3 in 1983. Very quickly it became clear that software solutions could be used to educate decision making and save time at the track…leading us to the Digital Pull Down Rig.
The Digital Pull Down Rig software tool is run alongside the physical car and is used for development work back at the factory, and for fast and accurate set up changes at the track. An oval car is asymmetric and has a great number of set up variables: the software takes the mystery away from set up changes educating drivers and teams to learn what works for them.
The duo has developed a number of other motorsport software tools for drivers, including video and statistical, performance analysis, all in name of finding them and their clients, an unfair advantage.
