National Sprint Car Hall of Fame driver Fred Rahmer Sr. will be signing autographs with his two sons, Freddie and Brandon, top runners today in regional 410 Sprint Car competition! Freddie’s No. 51 Sprint car will also be on display.
12:30 – 1:00: MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT: (D Hall Stage): BRETT DEYO, race promoter of Del.’s Georgetown and N.Y.’s Fonda and Utica-Rome speedways as well organaizer of the Short Track Super Series will be making a major announcement. Press members, racers and fans are invited to attend.
1:00 – 2:00 PM: 2022 BIG WINNERS: (D Hall Stage) – MATT SHEPPARD, who won a northeast high 42 features in 2022, will be honored on stage with a special painting for his accomplishments. Also recognized will be other divisional leaders including MATT HIRSCHMAN (28 Asphalt Modified wins), ANTHONY MARCI (23 Sprints), KYLE HARDY (12 Super Late Models), and STEPHEN SNYDER (13 Micro Sprints). Drivers who attend will receive a special award, be interviewed on stage and join in a group disucssion while answering questions from the audience. They will then be available to sign a special AARN supplied color poster exclusive to the show. Anthony Marci unfornately will not be on hand, he’ll be away on vacation.
1:00 – 2:00 PM: AUTOGRAPHS (Pioneer Pole Buildings Display – 104): THE PAUCHES – Legendary driver Billy “The Kid” Pauch and the “Kid’s Kid” Billy Pauch Jr., a current top winner in many different classes, will be signing autographs. Billy Jr. will be debuting his new dirt Modified with a retro-paint scheme to honor his father who retired from weekly competition this past season.
1:00 to 2:00 PM: AUTOGRAPHS/ READING REUNION – Stop by relive a great area in racing while metting many former Reading Fairgrounds stars that who once turned laps around the historical 1/2 mile dirt speedway. The following Legends of the Fairgrounds have committed to attend: BOBBY BRAXTON, JR. 2:00 – 3 PM: AUTOGRAPHS (Pioneer Pole Buildings Display – 104): CRAIG VON DOHREN the 2022 NASCAR Northeast Weejkt Racing Region and Grandview Speedway champion will be signing autographs and his new dirt Modified will be on display. He will be joined by fellow dirt Modified racer DAVEY SAMMONS. Joining them will be USAC East Sprint Car series racers JONATHAN and DAVID SWANSON along with TREVOR KOBYLARZ!
2:00 – 3:00 PM: ATQMRA AWARDS PRESENTATION (Display – 209-309): Driver KYLE TARASKA and car owner RUSS BAILEY will be honored as the ATQMRA 3/4 Midget 2022 champions in a special presentation. Stop by the ATQMRA booth and watch the trophy presentations of the top achievers on the outdoor series.
3:00 – 3:30 PM: RYAN PREECE – ONE-ON-ONE WITH THE FANS (D-Hall Stage) – Ryan Preece will go on stage to speak about his full-time return to the NASCAR Cup series driving for Stewart-Haas Racing this season. He’ll discuss the great opportunity he will have driving for them as well as his own efforts on the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour.
3:30 – 5:00 PM: AUTOGRAPHS: RYAN PREECE – (Display – 111) – Ryan Preece will be signing autographs next to a United Rentals No. 41 NASCAR Cup series Ford Mustang showcar that will be on display during the entire show.
3:00 – 4 PM: AUTOGRAPHS (Pioneer Pole Buildings Display – 104): THE HIRTHLERS: Brian (Modified), Kevin (Sportsman), Jesse (Sportsman) and Kayla (Quarter Midget) will be signing autographs. Joining them will be Sportsman and Sligshot driver BRETT BIEBER along with members of TEAM WARNER RACING.
3:30 – 4:30 PM: BILLY PAUCH ONE-ON-ONE WITH THE FANS (D-Hall Stage) – Billy Pauch will go on stage in an open mic conversation with the fans. Before the floor is open for questions, many of Pauch’s car owners over the years will be introduced and later pose for a group photo.
4:30 PM: AUTOGRAPHS: (D Hall Tribute Area) – BILLY PAUCH will be signing copies of “The Last Cowboy: The Life And Times of Billy Pauch” and a special show autograph poster along with greet fans and posing for photos. Many of his former car owners will also available in the area to signing the poster as well!
Oaks, PA (Jan. 20) – Lindsey Garl was crowned Ms. Motorsports 2023 on Friday, Day One of the Pioneer Pole Buildings Motorsports Race Car & Trade Show in Oaks, PA. Lindsey, of Reading, PA, was a popular winner among the 16 contestants in the Aqua Duck Water Transport-sponsored competition held at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, PA Friday night. Aqua Duck Water Transport owner Todd Baer, PPB Motorsports 2023 Show Promoter Len Sammons, and Ms. Motorsports 2022 Morgan Rochelle-Bealer made the presentation to the new winner on stage.
The 24-year-old mental health advocate races at Shellhammer’s Dirt Track as a Slingshot competitor. In addition to her crown, the new Ms. Motorsports earned $2,500, and a poster deal worth $1,000.
Dirt Track racing legend Billy Pauch and Funny Car Drag Racing legend Bruce Larson shared stories from their years behind the wheel with large and enthusiastic crowds Friday. Pauch was joined by fellow racers Jimmy Horton, Sammy Beavers, Fred Rahmer, Glenn Fitzcharles, and Wade Hendrickson on stage where stories were swapped in a lively roundtable discussion.
“We all raced hard and respected each other, most of the time,” Pauch laughed.
Pauch will return tomorrow for day two, Saturday, January 21 of the PPB Motorsports Show on stage. He will shre stories with many of his former car owners including Glen Hyneman, Leon and Joseph Liedl Jr., Al and Dave DeBlasio, Tony Sesely, DA Hanson, George and Marilyn Van Varick, Will Brown, Mike Heffner, and Zemco’s Tommy Carl.
Larson discussed the details of his Hall Of Fame NHRA Funny Car career with a big audience on hand. He will also return to the Show Saturday to meet and greet fans.
Ryan Preece, recently announced NASCAR Cup full-time driver with Stewart-Haas Racing and their United Rentals No 41 Ford Mustang, will talk on stage at 3 PM about his new 2023 opportunity, his Asphalt Modified plans, then sign autographs from 3:30 to 5 PM next to the SHR United Rentals Ford.
The winningest drivers of 2022, Matt Sheppard and Matt Hirschman, will be honored Saturday as the Area Auto Racing News winningest Dirt Modified and Asphalt Modified drivers respectively. Both will sign autographs after their presentation ceremonies that begin at 1 PM Saturday.
The American Three Quarter Midget Racing Association (ATQMRA) will use the Motorsports Show to host its annual Awards Banquet starting at 2 PM at Booth 209-309.
At the center of Saturday’s PPB Motorsports Show activity are a variety of wide-ranging seminars. Topics include Sprint Car 101 with Jim and Chris Shuttlesworth, engine and fuel system maintenance from VP Racing Fuel’s Fred Turza, Dirt Sportsman team development with five-time 2022 championship-winning crew chef Sam Wescott, race track media relations with Lincoln Speedway media coordinator Wayne Harper, racing photography tips from award-winning lensman Bob Yurko, Dirt Modified Four Coil set up tips from Chuck Schmick of Behrent’s Performance Warehouse and formerly of Eibach Springs, and the ever popular Basics Of Racing with long time Motorsports Show presenter Roy Anderson. All seminars are free of charge as part of PPB Motorsports 2023 admission.
Also on the Saturday schedule is the RAACE foundation Kids Big Wheel Races, competitions in three age brackets for prizes and trophies racing with Big Wheels supplied by the Motorsports staff.

Oaks, PA – Doors at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center swing open at 2 PM on Friday, January 20 for the first day of the 2023 Pioneer Pole Buildings Motorsports Show.
New this year is the EZ Work Trucks Happy Hour Friday. From 5 PM to 9 PM, two tickets can be purchased to the show for just $20. There will also be beer specials.
Opening Day highlights include meet and greet autograph sessions with Dirt Modified legend Billy Pauch and Drag Racing pioneer Bruce Larson at 5:30 PM and 6 PM respectively. Pauch returns at 6:30 PM, joined by several of his fellow competitors for some fun conversation.
At 8 PM, the Aqua Duck Water Transport Ms. Motorsports Pageant begins where reigning Ms. Motorsports Morgan Rochelle-Bealer will crown her successor.
Thanks to Aqua-Duck, this year’s winner will receive $2,500 and the swim suit winner $500. As of Thursday, 17 contestants have registered; entries will be accepted until 1 PM on Friday.
Early arriving ticket holders may enter the PPB Motorsports Show D-Hall Stage Area starting at 1 PM, one hour before the rest of the show officially opens.
Pauch’s first of two appearances at the show Friday will include a book signing of “The Last Cowboy: The Life And Times of Billy Pauch” and a special show autograph poster.
The 6:30 appearance, on the D Hall Stage, will feature Pauch joined by several of his fellow competitors and friends in a roundtable fun talk about the past. Guests include Jimmy Horton, Fred Rahmer, Billy Osmun, Glenn Fitzcharlesand Wade Hendrickson.
Bruce Larson goes on stage at 6 PM to discuss his Hall of Fame drag racing career and give insight on going down a strip at record speeds. Larson’s famed Funny Car will be on display during the entire event in the “Showcase Race Car” area located directly inside A-Hall. There, Larson will be signing autographs off and on during the entire show including a time directly after the stage appearance Friday.
New to the show this year is a “Showcase exhibit” of several special cars on display. This area, located near the front entrance in A-Hall will include a Ryan Preece No. 41 Stewart-Haas Ford Mustang NASCAR Next Gen Cup series show car.
On Saturday at 3 PM Preece will be on stage talking about his full-time return to the Cup series this season and his past victory last season on the NASCAR Truck series. He’ll then sign autographs next to the United Rentals No. 41 from 3:30 to 5:30.
Former NHRA champion Bruce Larson will have his championship-winning Funny Car in the Showcase area as well. Larson will be available for autographs, photos, and talk with fans during the majority of the show.
A Tribute to Billy Pauch Sr. will be conducted during the entire show with a showing of cars he drove and a special 50-foot wall of pictures. Two stage show tributes are also planned.
Pauch will be available during the show on Friday and Saturday to sign copies of “THE LAST COWBOY: The Life and Times of Billy Pauch” which will be available for sale at the show.
Several of the Pioneer Pole Building-sponsored race cars will be part of nearly 200 race cars of all kinds on display. Race cars will range from a small in size Quarter Midget driven by children to a Monster Truck. Circle track cars will be featured, but drag cars and land speed record vehicles will also be on display.
World Racing Group, a long-time Motorsports Show exhibitor, will give away two comprehensive Super DIRT Week tickets. The winners will be chosen from a drawing Saturday afternoon. World Racing Group’s Super DIRT Series booth will be graced with the No. 8H Modified driven on the SDS circuit by Max McLaughlin.
Other speedways and organizations will use the show to announce their plans for the new season. A continuous offering of informative racer seminars will make Motorsports Saturday a very important day for racers.

NHRA Legendary Funny Car Driver Bruce Larson, USA-1 Funny Car At Pioneer Pole Buildings Motorsports 2023 Show
Oaks, PA – Bruce Larson, the man whose career in NHRA Funny Car racing made both himself and the USA-1 designation household names in drag racing, will be at the 37th Pioneer Pole Buildings Motorsports Race Car and Trade Show in the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center.
Larson, of Dauphin, PA, will be available for autographs, photos and talk with fans during the majority of the show. He will also be on stage Friday, January 20 from 6:00 to 6:30 PM for a “one-on-one” with show attendees, shedding insight into his Hall Of Fame career.
The show stopper is likely to be Larson’s unrestored red, white and blue 2,500-horsepower USA-1 1979 Corvette AA/Funny Car which is being featured in the ‘ Showcase’ exhibit at PPB Motorsports all weekend.
The NASCAR Next Gen No. 41 Cup car, to be driven by Ryan Preece, will also be part of the Showcase. On Saturday at 3PM Preece will be on stage talking about his full-time return to the Cup series this season and his past victory last season on the NASCAR Truck series. NASCAR Cup Driver, Modified Standout Ryan Preece Coming To Pioneer Pole Buildings Motorsports 2023 Show Sat., Jan. 21; New Ride, Stewart Haas No. 41 Show Car To Be Part Part Of Expansive ‘Showcase Cars’ Display
Oaks, PA – NASCAR Cup series driver Ryan Preece will be making a special appearance at the Pioneer Pole Building Motorsports 2023 Show to meet and greet his legions of fans at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center. The event runs on Friday January 20th from 2 to 9 PM and Saturday, January 21 from 11 AM to 8 PM.
Preece, who will drive full-time on the NASCAR Cup Series this year for Stewart-Haas Racing, will go on stage on Saturday of the show from 3 to 3:30 for an interview to outline his busy racing season plans. Following the discussion, Preece will personally meet and greet fans at his United Rentals No. 41 Next Gen Ford Mustang near the front entrance of A-Hall from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM signing autographs.
Preece, 32, of Berlin, CT., has 115 previous NASCAR Cup starts, 62 Xfinity attempts, and 12 Truck races. The former NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion, made the move to the Cup series after winning two NASCAR Xfinity races. This past year he won two NASCAR Truck races.
While he now lives in North Carolina, Preece has not forgotten his roots. He will continue his 16-year NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour career when he can this year which consisted of 171 starts, 25 victories, a 2013 Series title and four title runnerup finishes, in 2009, 2012, 2014, and 2015.
Former NHRA champion Bruce Larson will have his championship winning Funny Car in the Showcase area as well. Larson will be available for autographs, photos and talk with fans during the majority of the show.
A Tribute to Billy Pauch Sr. will be conducted during the entire show with a showing of cars he drove and a special 50 foot wall of pictures. Two stage show tributes are also planned. Pauch will be available during the show on Friday and Saturday to sign copies of “THE LAST COWBOY: The Life and Times of Billy Pauch” which will be available for sale at the show.
Several of the Pioneer Pole Building sponsored race cars will be part of nearly 200 race cars of all kinds on display. Race cars will range from a small in size Quarter Midget driven by children to a Monster Truck. Circle track cars will be featured, but drag cars and land speed record vehicles will also be on display.
The Super DIRTcar Series booth will be graced with the No. 8H Modified driven on the circuit by Max McLaughlin. Northeast regional director Dean Reynolds will be on hand to answer questions. Two comprehensive Super DIRT Week tickets for the October Classic at N.Y.’s Owego Speedway will be chosen from a free drawing.
Other speedways and organizations will use the show to announce their plans for the new season. A continuous offering of informative racer seminars will make Motorsports Saturday a very important day for racers.
On Friday at 8 PM the Aqua-Duck Water Transport sponsored Ms. Motorsports pageant will be held. Thanks to Aqua-Duck, this year’s winner will receive $2,500 and the swim suit winner $500. Contestants are urged to enter in advance.
The RAACE Foundation sonsored Big Wheel races will be held on Saturday at 2 PM in three ages groups from 3 to 9. No pre-entry is needed, children with their parents must check in at the stage area prior to 1 PM. Big Wheels are supplied.

Pioneer Will Be Showing Off The Drivers And Cars That Carry Their Sponsorship
OAKS, PA – Driver autographs, race car displays and much more will greet fans when they enter the Pioneer Pole Buildings Motorsports 2023 show. The magic will begin at the front entrance of the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center when the doors open on Friday January 20th at 2 PM and Saturday, January 21st at 11 AM where you’ll find the show sponsors huge display.
Pioneer Pole Buildings (PPB), headquarter in Schuylkill Haven, PA, has been the sponsor of the Motorsports Trade and Race Car Show since 2014. When the 37th edition is held they’ll again showcase several of their sponsored race cars and have three driver autograph sessions on Saturday. PPB will also have information available on their many services.
One of the feature cars of the entire show will be at the PPB display. Billy Pauch Jr. will be debuting a new Dirt Modified at the show he’ll race this season with a retro-paint scheme in honor of his father. On Saturday from 1 to 2 PM, Billy Pauch Sr. and Jr. will be signing autographs at the PPB display.
National Sprint Car Hall of Fame driver Fred Rahmer headlines a signing group on Saturday from 12 to 1 PM for an autograph session. Rahmer will be joined by his sons Freddie and Brandon. Freddie won the Lincoln Speedway championship again this year and his brother Brandon who is also a top 410 Sprint Car driver.
The 2022 NASCAR Northeast Region and Grandview Speedway champion Craig Von Dohren and fellow Modified driver Davey Sammons will sign from 2 to 3. This group will also include USAC East Sprint Series drivers Dave and brother Jonathan Swanson plus Trevor Kobylarz (USAC EAST Sprints) as well as SpeedSTR driver Cale Zangli.
The Hirthler family of racer led by brothers Brian (Modified) and Kevin (Sportsman) will be join by sibblings Jesse (Sportsman) and Kayla (Quarter Midget) signing from 3 to 4. This group also includes Brett Bieber (Slingshots) and members of Team Warner Racing.
Von Dohren, Rahmer, Jr., Swanson, Zangli and Bieber are expected to have cars on display at the PPB area.
In an exhibit area next to the Pioneer display will be area where several showcase cars will be on display. This will include a No. 41 Stewart-Haas Ford Mustang that will be driven on the NASCAR Cup series this season by Ryan Preece.

Chuck Schmick Revisits Changes In Dirt Modified Four-Coil Set-Ups At Free PPB Motorsports 2023 Seminar
Oaks, PA — The evolution of change has continued in dirt Modified chassis set-ups and Chuck Schmick, the suspension expert at Behrent’s Performance Warehouse, is returning for a second year seminar at the Pioneer Pole Buildings Motorsports Race Car & Trade Show.
Schmick’s one hour seminar is scheduled from 12:30 to 1:30 PM in Room 1 at the Greater Phiadelphia Expo Center on the second day of the show, Saturday, January 21st with focus on the four-coil suspension with left-side Panhard bar that has become the norm in the division.
The Technical Sales Advisor for Behrent’s, formerly with Eibach Springs, will get those that didn’t attend last year up to speed while updating those of new ideas from the past season. After his presentation, the resident of Mooresville, N.C., he’ll be available to answer questions.

Dirt Sportsman Modified Racing A To Z With Sam Wescott and Joe Toth Part Of Busy Saturday Free Seminar Line-Up At PPB Motorsports 2023
Oaks, PA — Noted dirt Sportsman and Modified crew chief Sam Wescott and his championship winning driver Joe Toth will be offering valuable advice to fellow racers as part of a Saturday Free Seminar schedule at the Pioneer Pole Buildings Motorsports Race Car & Trade Show. The one hour seminar is scheduled from 5 to 6 PM in Room 1 at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center.
After retiring as a driver, Wescott became a valuable crew chief. After working full-time on cars driven by Brandon Grosso, Wescott switched his focus to his step-son Joe Toth.
This past season Toth showed great consistency winning an amazing five different Sportsman championships! Together they won two track titles at New Egypt and one each at Georgetown and Delaware International plus the Short Track Super Series South crown.
Wescott has offered his time to cover what he feels is needed for a new race team that’s moving up get started. For all Modified or Sportsman racers, he’ll go over his weekly maintenance check-list, touch on motor maintenance, valve springs and oil; and spend time on chassis set-up, shocks and springs.
Toth will also be available to answer questions on following an ever-changing track surface and what tire prep is needed to be successful and save money. Drivers making the move from small cars, or current Sportsman or Modified drivers wanting to up their game need to attend with questions in hand for a crew chief and driver known for helping their fellow competitors!

Oaks, PA — Successful 410 Sprint Car crew chief Jim Shuttlesworth and his car chief son Chris will be sharing their insight and knowledge to fellow racers as part of a Saturday Free Seminar schedule at the Pioneer Pole Buildings Motorsports Race Car & Trade Show. The one hour seminar is scheduled from 2 to 3 PM in Room 1 at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center.
After Jim Shuttlesworth ended his own driving career, he became a respected 410 Sprint Car crew chief with a knack of uplifting a young driver to much higher levels in his career.
Chad Layton, Brock Zearfoss, Lucas Wolfe and most recently Anthony Macri who won a United States best 23 Sprint Car feature events in 2022. Late last season, Jim left the Macri No. 39 team to join forces with car-owner John Stehman to form Shuttlesworth-Stehman Racing.
Shuttlesorth finished the past season with young driver Devon Borden behind the wheel and his influence has already been seen. With an off season to build up the new team, more success is expected this season.
Jim’s son Chris, who learned the trade well from his father, left the Macri team as well to join his father. They’ll be working together for the informative seminar offering advice from the Sprint Car beginner to the top level of the sport… what the crew chief should know as well as driver coaching from two of the best in the sport.
