OAKS, PA January 20, 2019 . . . The third and last day of the 2019 PPB Motorsports Race Car & Trade Show ended with the naming of 2019 Little Ms. Motorsports and Tiny Ms. Motorsports, the crowning of several winners in various age groups of Kids Big Wheel races, and the awarding of Best In Show Booth awards to deserving show exhibitors.

 Crowned Little Ms. Motorsports 2019 was Courtney Wolf, 11 of East Berlin, PA. The new Tiny Ms. Motorsports is Evelina McIlroy, 6, of Boyertown, PA.

 Kids Big Wheels races Sunday afternoon were won by Jayde Pratt (age bracket 7-9), Ian John (ages 5-6) and Joel Milocsar (age bracket 3-4).

 Best In Show laurels were earned by Norm Hansell’s No. 357 driven by Duane Howard (Dirt Modified, Georgetown Speedway Booth), Tyler Brehm’s No. 21R Steve Riccione-owned Sprint (Best Open Cockpit Car), Reading Speedway Historical Society (Best Non-Commercial Booth), Troyer Race Cars (Best Commercial Booth), Blackbird Speedway (Best Club Display), Harry Gerb (Best Drag Car, Pontiac Firebird In Sunoco Race Fuels Booth), ATQMRA (Best Racing Organization Display) Lynn Paxton’s Miracle Power No. 2 built in 1953 and driven by Tommy Hinnershitz (Best Vintage Open Cockpit Car) and Mike Grim’s mid-fifties Flathead Ford No. 101 raced at Reading Fairgrounds by Red Lesher (Best Vintage Stock Car Display). 

 Len Sammons Motorsports Productions has announced show dates of January 17, 18, 19, 2020 for Motorsports 2020 at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, PA.

OAKS, PA January 19, 2019 . . . Taylor Fullin, 21, of Danielsville, PA, was crowned Ms. Motorsports Saturday night. She earned her crown in the Aqua-Duck Water Transport-sponsored competition Saturday night on Day Two of the three-day PPB Motorsports 2019 Race Car & Trade Show at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center.

 “I’m very happy and look forward to representing the Show,” said Taylor, a college student whose step brother Corey Edelman races weekly at Mahoning Valley Speedway. 

 “Taylor will be an outstanding Ms. Motorsports who I’m sure will represent the Show proudly and professionally,” said Len Sammons, originator of the Motorsports Show.

 The winner earned $1,500 cash in addition to future poster sales earnings.

 Amanda Arms, 25, of Douglassville, PA, was first runner-up, earning $500. Andrea Cap, 28, of York, PA was named second runner-up, taking $250.

 Earlier on Saturday afternoon, NASCAR Hall Of Famers Darrell Waltrip and Ray Evernham signed autographs and interacted with Motorsports Show attendees as did Ryan Preece, past NASCAR Modified Touring Series champion who is a 2019 candidate for NASCAR Monster Cup Series Rookie of the Year honors.

 “I had a great time,” Waltrip said. “I really enjoyed being here and would recommend this show to anyone who asks.”

 “It’s always fun for Erin and me to come back to the northeast,” Evernham said upon departing the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center Saturday early afternoon. “We have a lot of friends here and it was good to see so many people. Great way to spend a weekend.”

 Preece, who has been a previous Motorsports Show honoree as an AARN Winningest Asphalt Modified winner, tipped that he still intends to race Modifieds, but only as his Rookie season on the NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series allows.

 “Cup racing is my priority now,” Preece told Motorsports Show fans. “But my Modified car owner (Ed Partridge) will have a car ready any time I’m able to race it.”

 Asphalt Touring Modified driver Matt Hirschman, New England asphalt Late Model racer Tom Fearn and Pennsylvania Micro Sprint ace Garrett Bard signed commemorative posters Saturday afternoon as three of Area Auto Racing News’ Winningest Drivers of 2018.

 Prior to the Ms. Motorsports pageant, PPB Motorsports Show promoter Len Sammons presented its Joe Pratt Award of Excellence Award to Earl and Pam Krause. The husband-and-wife team are long time Motorsports staffers with Earl performing show announcing duties and ‘Press Room Pam’ running the Motorsports Show media center jointly with Earl. Earl is also a full- time editor at Area Auto Racing News.

 The salutation honors the memory of the late Motorsports Show employee Joe Pratt, whose years of work greatly elevated the standard of the show.

 The 34th annual PPB Motorsports Race Car & Trade Show concludes its run tomorrow, Sunday, January 20 from 11 AM through 4 PM. Featured events include the Little Ms. Motorsports competition, Kids Big Wheel races and an auction to benefit the family of the late Greg Hodnett.

OAKS, PA January 18, 2019 . . . The 34th PPB Motorsports Show at Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, PA opened to a large and enthusiastic crowd on Friday, the first day of the three-day event.

In a press conference called by Lincoln Speedway officials and conducted at 3:00 PM, Motorsports attendees learned at the same time the racing media did that Scott Gobrecht, Jerry Parrish and Mike Heffner had become involved as track investors. Don Leiby, who had been an owner of the track for 26 years, has stepped back from his involvement while Alan Kreitzer has reduced his stake.

One hour later on the Motorsport 2019 Show floor, Matt Hearn of TEO Race Cars unwrapped a new car in his booth owned by Ray Graham and dedicated for the 2019 Super DIRTcar Series. Driver Danny Johnson assisted with the unveiling, which revealed driver Anthony Perrego in the sitting in the cockpit. The two drivers will race TEO Pro Cars owned by Graham as teammates in 2019.

“Having the Motorsports Show chosen as the occasion to make such important industry announcements is a great honor,” said PPB Motorsports Show Organizer Len Sammons.

Ten drivers and car owners who were part of the history of the Reading Fairgrounds were on stage Friday night exchanging reminiscences, notably drivers Kenny Brightbill, Gary Gollub, Glenn Fitzcharles and Jimmy Horton and car owners Ronnie Kehl and Ronnie Leinbach.

NASCAR Hall Of Famer Ray Evernham and wife Erin Crocker Evernham closed out the Day One formal activities at Motorsports with a wide-ranging, humorous and thoroughly enjoyable one-on-one stage show with Motorsports moderator Paul Szmal.

The PPB Motorsports Show resumes Saturday from 11 AM through 9 PM with guest appearances by Ryan Preece at 1 PM and Darrell Waltrip at 2:30 PM. The Aqua Duck Water Transport Ms. Motorsports Contest, which will crown Ms. Motorsports 2019, starts at 7:30 PM.

Saturday and Sunday Show attendees are reminded that free courtesy parking lot shuttles run continuously during show hours, minimizing weather inconvenience.

OAKS, PA – The vast majority of the hundreds of commercial exhibitors, race cars, and speedway and sanctioning organization displays were moved into the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center throughout the day and into the evening on Thursday, in anticipation of the grand opening of the 34th annual PPB Motorsports Race Car & Trade Show.
The well-orchestrated move went off without a hitch despite some challenges moving Darrell Waltrip’s ’69 Mercury Terminal Transport Grand National car into place. The car is the first one Waltrip ever drive in NASCAR Cup competition.
Five men jostled the massive ‘Merc out of its trailer, pushed it across a parking lot, onto the Expo Center show floor and into its booth space. The process was difficult because the cars of that era had no power steering and were considerably heavier than today’s Cup machines.
Waltrip will be at the Motorsports Show on Saturday, Jan. 19 to meet race fans, sign autographs, and pose for pictures alongside the first Cup car he ever drove.
Key events of Day One at the PPB Motorsports Race Car Trade Show include a press conference convened by Lincoln Speedway to release bombshell announcement about its 2019 plans, opportunities to interact with NASCAR Hall Of Fame crew chief and team Evernham and his wife Erin, and Day One of the celebration and remembrance of the Reading Fairgrounds, which last raced in 1979 but remains much beloved four decades after its last race.
Friday hours for the PPB Motorsports Show are from 2pm through 9pm. Saturday hours are from 11am through 9pm and Sunday show times are a 11am start and a 4pm finish.

OAKS, PA - After the Pioneer Pole Buildings Motorsports 2019 Racecar & Trade Show closes for the night on Saturday, race fans will be able to watch the Chili Bowl Midget car race live from Tulsa, OK with friends at Valley Forge Casino Resort, our host hotel.
The PPB Motorsports show at the nearby Greater Philadelphia Expo Center closes on Saturday after the annual crowning of Ms. Motorsports at 9 p.m.
The Chili Bowl race telecast on MAV-TV, which will begin at 8:30 p.m., will be shown on several screens at both the Valley Tavern located in the lobby of the Radisson and at the Center Bar located in the heart of the gambling area.
Food and beverage will be available in both areas until 2 a.m.
There will also be music for dancing in the casino. There will be no sound to the racing coverage at the Center Bar because a DJ will be will be starting at 9 PM.
On Saturday night Dueling Pianos will be featured at The Vault with no cover charge for standing room, tables can be reserved for $5. Doors open and drink specials begin at 8pm and the music starts at 8:30pm.
On Saturday night only a few tickets remain available for a Beatlemania Now show to be held in The Venue starting at 8 pm.
PPB Motorsports 2019 opens on Friday, January 18 at 2 p.m., then at 11 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The show closes at 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and at 4 p.m. on Sunday. On Sunday, all children 12 and under are admitted FREE with a parent.
Headlining the show will be NASCAR Hall of Famers Darrell Waltrip and Ray Evernham along with Ryan Preece who will be looking to capture NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series Rookie of the Year honors.
One of the most popular events during the three day show has been, and will again be, the Ms. Motorsports Pageant sponsored by Aqua Duck Water Transport. Again this year the Pioneer Pole Buildings Motorsports 2019 Racecar & Trade Show will offer show attendees the opportunity to attend a variety of seminars at no cost other than the price of the show admission ticket.

During the three day show taking place at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, PA a number of seminars covering a variety of subjects of interest to those involved in motorsports will take place with experts providing the instructions.

Of special interest are three very new different seminars being conducted by NASCAR Hall of Fame crew chief Ray Evernham, 2019 NASCAR Cup Series rookie of the year Ryan Preece, Greg Hodnett’s late wife Sherry and noted media relations consultant Rolfe Schnur.

4:30 – 5:30 PM: (Room 1) RACING SHOCKS HELP – Presented by NASCAR Hall of Famer Ray Evernham and Jeff Ryan of JRi Shocks.

NASCAR Hall of Famer crew chief Ray Evernham recently announced his acquisition of JRi Shocks. JRi Shocks founder, Jeff Ryan, who will continue to play a leading role in the organization as a Partner and Vice President of Engineering, joins Evernham to talk shocks and answer all questions to help racers using any brand of shock.

6:00 – 7:00 PM: (Room 1) THE BASICS OF RACING – Set-up, tire and general maintenance on Street/Pure/Factory Stock and Front Wheel-Drive (asphalt and dirt) “U-car” divisions. Presented by Roy Anderson of Anderson Race Cars.

6:30 -7:15 PM: (Room 2) LEGAL ISSUES IN RACING, and with the Racing Business – Presented by attorney Meri Van Blarcom-Gupko of Wiley, Malehorn, Sirota and Raynes legal firm. A practicing lawyer with an auto racing background, she will answer racing-related legal questions that you may have, such as sponsor liability, insurance and what responsibilities you need to be aware of as a racer and/or track operator. Open to racers and promoters/track managers. (Note: Legal questions will be answered at no charge during the presentation).

Saturday, January 19: (Show Hours 11 Am To 9 P.M.)

1:00 – 2:00 PM: (Room 1): BEING BETTER PREPARED – Sherry Hodnett, the wife of the late driving great Greg Hodnett who was killed in a September Sprint Car crash is holding a one hour discussion to share what she has gone through in recent months in hopes of helping others be better prepare. Sherry believes her bad experiences can help others in the sport avoid the issues she has struggled with since Greg’s death.

1:15 – 2:15 PM: (Room 2): TEN KEYS TO PROFESSIONALISM IN RACING…Hosted by media relations consultant Rolfe Schnur, who works with Brett Hearn, Max McLaughlin, Jack Lehner, Drake Troutman and others.

2:30 – 3:30 PM: (Room 2): DIRT LATE MODEL SET-UPS AND CHASSIS TUNING – Jim Bernheisel, and sons Brandon and Bryan, of Bernheisel Race Components/ Lazer Chassis are experts in dirt Late Model chassis building and driving. They will be sharing their knowledge and offering help in this informative seminar.

2:30 – 3:30 PM: (Room 1): WINNING DIRT MODIFIED/SPORTSMAN PREP – Randy Williamson, of Bicknell Race Cars will outline how one of their winning racecars can be properly prepared for competition. Williamson, who also fields a car for his son and works closely with many other top drivers, will offer an insight on the work needed on the car to first finish before it can finish first. He’ll also be available for questions and answers on all subjects regarding dirt Modified and Sportsman racing and set-up help.

3:45 – 4:45 PM: (Room 2): THE BASICS OF RACE TEAM SPONSORSHIP – Presented by race team Media Relations consultant and motorsports journalist John Snyder. The basics you need from writing proposals and who to send them to will be covered from an expert who has had winning success with many drivers and teams for decades.

3:45 – 4:45 PM (Room 1) Q & A WITH RYAN PREECE – If you got questions regarding an asphalt Modified, 2013 NASCAR Whelen Tour champion Ryan Preece is willing to help. Bring your questions to the seminar room on preparing or setting up your chassis, brakes, tires, etc. and he’s willing to give you his advice.

5:00- 6:00 PM: (Room 2): TAKING PHOTOS AT THE TRACK – For the “amateur” or the person looking to enter the business, this seminar provides “the basics” of racing photography. One attendee will get a chance to take photos at the Ms. Motorsports competition, with the professionals! Hosted by award winning racing photographer Bob Yurko of Area Auto Racing News

5:00- 6:00 PM: (Room 1) SAFETY AT THE SPEEDWAY – Presented by Warren Alston, a veteran racing flagger and official; and by profession an Emergency Medical Services Chief and Occupational Health Technician. The first part of the seminar will cover what safety measures are, or should be, in place at local racetracks. Topics will include Safety Terms, Kinematics of Trauma, Scene Survey in an accident, Rapid Assessment (RPM) and Treatment Priorities. It will be followed by an actual demonstration, with a race car, of the “team approach” to remove an injured driver. A “must attend” for racetrack first responders, but also open to fans and track management/officials.

Motorsports 2019 opens on Friday, January 18 at 2 p.m., then at 11 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The show closes at 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and at 4 p.m. on Sunday. On Sunday, all children 12 and under are FREE with a parent.
